MCC Island - Battle Box!

Grab your sword and bow, it's time to fight outside of the box in Battle Box!

One of our 4 closed beta launch games, the aim of Battle Box is simple. 4 teams of 4 face off in three 1-minute rounds, each with the goal of claiming the point in the centre of the map by filling it with their team's coloured wool before the enemy team fills it with theirs.

However, there have been some major changes from the event version of the game when it comes to the kit the team has available to them. In the event version of Battle Box, each map has 4 items that players can choose from, at the start of each round, to help them in combat.
In the MCC Island version of Battle Box, at the start of the game, players can choose 1 of 5 different kit types relating to a specific play style. Each kit provides players with items relating to that specific play style and change depending on the map being played.

These kit types include:
  • The Scrapper (Sturdy and strong)
  • The Baller (Throws Orbs)
  • The Healer (Keeps pesky teammates alive)
  • The Flanker (Quick on their feet)
  • The Trickster (Sneaky so and so)
  • The Sharpshooter (Precision expert)
  • The Gadgeteer (Goated with gadgets)

Battle Box Kits

Depending on the kit and the map that's being played, they can provide the player with weapons, potions, arrows, sparks or orbs. There are also items within the maps that players can pick up to offer even more versatility in combat.

In Battle Box, there are two ways of earning Score:
  • Eliminations
  • Winning the round by filling in the wool (Split between the team)

The higher the Score you earn in-game, the more you’re rewarded with Game Tokens and XP once the game is complete. You might even win Customisation Kits or Currency Pouches, if you play really well, but that's a discussion for a different article.

We have 4 maps we’re planning to roll out during the MCCI beta period. Upon launch of closed beta there will be 3 Event maps: Canal, Trains and Paint Factory, adding to the rotation a little later into the beta will be Mines an Island exclusive!

This is just the start of Battle Box; we’re wracking our brains for more maps, more kits and items to battle it out as MCC Island expands, but we hope you enjoy these new changes to this MCC classic and that they scratch that Battle Box itch you’ve all been waiting for!
